The Franklin County Senior Center has been hosting a Senior Exercise class for 12 years. Mary West started the class in 2002 as part of Tufts Strong Living. It started as a 12-week exercise program.
At first, the class was limited to 10-12 members. Over time, the exercises changed based on suggestions and needs of the participants.
The current class, which is held year round, meets on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9:00 to 10:00 AM on the second floor of the Senior Center. There are usually between 7 to 20 participants, who range in age from 65 to 94 years young. The class features a warm-up, arm and leg seated exercises with weights, and a balance section.
We encourage seniors looking for some exercise and good company to try the class.
